September 2010 - Abraham Carmelli is the first guitarist in New York who plays a Bert Kwakkel concert guitar type Merula Special, with top of bearclaw spruce and Brazilian rosewood back, sides, neck and fingerboard.
Armrest for classical guitars
These days, Bert Kwakkel increasingly integrates armrests into his concert guitars. An armrest offers several advantages:
- Sharp angle eliminated for even more playing comfort
- Right arm no longer damps the top
- Right arm slides naturally,
which stimulates playing with tone coloring
There are three types of armrests:
- body height increased
