Amanda Cook

Amanda Cook began playing the guitar at the age of seven. She graduated from the Royal College of Music in 1998. She studied with Charles Ramirez, Jakob Lindberg, Gary Ryan and Ben Verdery. Her competition successes have included the First Prize in the 1995 Admira Young Guitarist of the Year Award, the 1997 Ivor Mairants Guitar Award and the 1998 Carol Evershed Martin Award. At 23 Amanda Cook has performed throughout her country and overseas including the Bath International Guitar Festival, the Classical Guitar Festival of Great Britain, John Mills 50th Birthday Concert at the Wigmore Hall and the Ivor Mairants Memorial Concert also at the Wigmore.
