Roel Goedhart (1987) is an all-round professional in the guitar world: from classical music to theatre and pop. As a soloist or accompanist, electric or acoustic, performer or creator.

He started playing the guitar as a 7-year-old boy. He soon got the hang of it and turned out to have real talent. After finishing grammar school (VWO) studying to become a professional guitarist was the logical next step. In 2011 Roel graduated from the Conservatorium of Amsterdam where he studied with Lydia Kennedy, and obtained his Bachelor’s degree for the classical guitar. In 2013 this was followed by a Master’s degree with Enno Voorhorst at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

Roel was always looking to broaden his horizons and increase his knowledge. He attended masterclasses with Fabio Zanon, Sabrina Vlaskalic, Thomas Müller-Pering and Scott Tennant. He also developed his skills in pop music, jazz and flamenco. Roel steadily became a well-educated, motivated guitarist loved by a wide audience.

Roel Goedhart has a wealth of experience. At 17 he played the solo part in the famous Concerto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo. In 2012 was his debut on the classical music TV channel BravaNL. The short dance film Le Médaillon, with Roel as production manager and guitarist, showcases a unique combination of dance and classical guitar music. Thanks to the film, Roel was invited to perform in other projects with dancers. The film was broadcast in at least 17 countries.

Roel has become a welcome guest at renowned concert venues in the Netherlands such at the Muziekgebouw aan het IJ and Korzo. He is also regularly invited to play at festivals in the Netherlands and abroad. Roel contributed to the musicaltheater productions Bloedbroeders, Verhaal Halen, Voor Je Het Weet and Dogfight. He has a good working relationship with musical director Alan Evans (Hair and West Side Story in New York) and together with singer/actress Brechtje Kat and known from the tv series Celblok H.
